Otterly AI alternatives and competitors: eight tools, compared on what Lite leaves out

Otterly is the easiest tool in this category to start with, and its $29 Lite plan is a fair price for four engines. The reason people look for an alternative is the other three: Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode are add-ons on every plan. Here is Otterly's own pricing, then eight alternatives.

Why people look

Claude, Gemini and AI Mode cost extra: the usual reason to find an Otterly alternative

Each of these is from Otterly’s own pricing page, read on 9 October 2026.

  1. Three engines are add-ons on every plan

Lite, Standard and Premium each include four engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode are add-ons on all three, priced per engine and per plan: on Lite, Gemini and AI Mode are $9 a month each and Claude is $29, so the full seven on Lite is $76. On Standard the same three add $227 to the $189. The plan cards say 'as extra add-ons'; the prices are in a table further down the page.

  2. Copilot is one of the four

Copilot's answers draw largely on Bing. It takes one of the four included slots, while Gemini is one of the add-ons, so check which of the two your buyers use before you count engines.

  3. The jump from Lite to Standard

Lite is 15 prompts at $29. The next plan is 100 prompts at $189, six and a half times the price. There is nothing in between, so a team that outgrows 15 prompts is choosing between a big step up and the $99-per-100-prompts add-on, which is only available on Standard and above.

  4. Three recommendations a week on Lite

The optimisation side of the product, which is a large part of the pitch, is capped at three recommendations a week on the entry plan. Standard lifts it to unlimited. On Lite you are mostly buying the tracking.

In AIMentionTracker, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode each get a rate of their own on every plan, with nothing sold as an add-on.

Eight Otterly AI alternatives, ranked on engines with no add-on

Ranked on what the cheapest plan includes, the same criterion as our comparison page. We are first on it because ours is the only entry plan that carries every engine with nothing sold as an add-on. Each entry says how the tool differs from Otterly and nothing else; the general write-ups are on the comparison page.

  1. The AI visibility platform to get recommended by AI, with all six engines on every plan, including Gemini, Claude and Google AI Mode, with nothing sold as an add-on, from $9 a month. The plans step $9, $19, $29, $49 rather than $29 to $189. The trade: 2 prompts on the entry plan and one market per brand. The API, the CLI and the MCP server are included at the same rate limit on every plan, where Otterly's start on the $189 Standard tier.

  2. Entry plan

    €85/mo Starter, 50 prompts

Full entry on the comparison page

€85 to start, with a choose-three-models rule instead of Otterly's four-plus-add-ons. Same shape of limit from a different angle, with a much better client-facing dashboard. Unlimited users on every plan, like Otterly.

  3. Entry plan

$17/mo Essentials, billed yearly; $99/mo Pro with 1,200 credits

Full entry on the comparison page

Essentials at $17 a month, billed yearly, on credits that cover every engine it tracks, Claude, Gemini and AI Mode included; most queries cost a quarter of a credit and Claude two. Removes the add-on problem; introduces a budgeting one. Use the calculator on their pricing page before you pick.

  4. Entry plan

    $295/mo Starter, 3,600 credits

Full entry on the comparison page

Eleven engines with no add-ons, at $295. Ten times Otterly's entry price, for a team that wants everything covered and prescriptive fixes.

  5. Entry plan

Index from $199/mo; prompt packages from $50/mo; Ahrefs Lite ($129/mo) includes 5 tracked prompts

Full entry on the comparison page

Six engines in the index, Gemini included, and Claude for your own prompts. The index needs no setup and starts at $199 a month; every paid Ahrefs plan from the $129 Lite includes a few tracked prompts. Makes most sense if you are already in Ahrefs.

  6. Entry plan

$99/mo toolkit, 25 prompts; Semrush One from $199/mo with 50

Full entry on the comparison page

Part of Semrush, at $99 a month for the toolkit, with weekly Brand Performance updates and daily Prompt Tracking on four engines. The convenience is real for a team already in Semrush.

  7. Entry plan

Free 7-day trial, 50 prompts daily; brands then go to Enterprise, custom priced. Agencies: $399/mo per client workspace.

Full entry on the comparison page

No published price for brands and an Enterprise sale; agencies pay $399 a month per client workspace. If Otterly's $189 step was the problem, this is not the fix.

  8. Entry plan

    $250/mo Core, 125 prompts

Full entry on the comparison page

Core at $250 a month covers the same four engines Otterly includes, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot, with Claude, Gemini and AI Mode on Enterprise. Owned by Sitecore since June 2026.

The honest answer

When Otterly is still the right buy at $29

Otterly is a good buy at $29 for the four engines it includes, and we would not talk you out of it.

Stay with Otterly if

  • ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews are the engines you care about.
  • You want it running in ten minutes.

Look at the alternatives if

  • You want Claude, Gemini or AI Mode without paying per engine.
  • You want more than 15 prompts without a $189 step.

How to choose

Before you switch from Otterly, price the engines you actually want

Three questions, written for the reason you are leaving.

  1. Do the add-on arithmetic before you compare prices

Otterly's $29 is the price of four engines. If you want Claude, Gemini and AI Mode, that is $76 on Lite, and then compare. A tool that costs more than $29 but includes everything may be cheaper for the set you actually want, and one that costs less may be making the same trade in a different order.

  2. Check how markets are counted

Otterly's 50-plus countries sit inside one workspace. Elsewhere a market is a per-brand setting: we run every prompt from the one country and language the workspace is set to, any of 212, and a second country is a second brand. Neither is wrong; they cost differently once you sell in three places.

  3. Look at the step after the entry plan

You outgrew 15 prompts, or you will. The question is what the next plan costs, not what the first one does. On Otterly it is $189. Elsewhere on this page it is $19, $99 or €205. That gap is where the real price difference lives.

How much does Otterly AI cost?
Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts on four engines, Standard is $189 for 100 prompts with API and MCP access, and Premium is $489 for 400 prompts. Annual billing is 15% off. Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode are add-ons on every plan. Read from otterly.ai/pricing on 9 October 2026.
Is Otterly AI worth it?
If ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot are the engines you need, yes: Lite is $29 a month, tracks daily and is the quickest setup on this page. If you also want Claude, Gemini or Google AI Mode, price the add-ons first, because on Lite the full seven comes to $76 a month.
Who are Otterly AI's competitors?
The eight on this page: AIMentionTracker, Peec AI, Rankscale, AthenaHQ, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit, Profound and Scrunch. They are ranked here on how many engines the entry plan includes with nothing sold as an add-on.
Does Otterly track Claude and Gemini?
As paid add-ons, yes. On Lite, Gemini is $9 a month and Claude is $29; Google AI Mode is another $9. None of the three is in the four engines included on Lite, Standard or Premium, which are ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot.
Which Otterly alternative includes Claude, Gemini and AI Mode without add-ons?
AIMentionTracker includes all six engines on every plan from $9. AthenaHQ includes eleven at $295. Rankscale covers them on credits from $17 a month, billed yearly. Peec offers Gemini and AI Mode within a choice of three models per project, and lists Claude under Enterprise.
Is there a cheaper Otterly alternative?
AIMentionTracker at $9 and Rankscale at $17 a month, billed yearly, are both cheaper to start. Ours has every engine included at that price; Rankscale's is credit-based, so what you pay depends on how many engines and prompts you run.
Otterly or Peec AI?
Otterly is cheaper to start ($29 versus €85) and simpler. Peec has the better dashboard and a longer model list on Enterprise, but caps its self-serve plans at three models per project. Both sell engines beyond the base as extras, so neither removes the add-on problem; if that is your reason for looking, check the tools above that include everything.
